John joined The MDE Group in 2002 and is Senior Vice President of Investment Strategy. He Chairs the firm’s Investment Committee and plays a key role in determining investment offerings, asset allocation, and investment strategy. John contributes to The MDE Group’s thought leadership in the wealth management field by representing the firm, as invited speaker, at numerous financial related conferences. He also co-authors many of The MDE Group’s white papers, client communication reports, and external publications.

John is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Finance at Rutgers Business School and has taught in their undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and International Executive MBA programs for more than a decade. He has published in the areas of investment strategy, behavioral finance, performance evaluation, and alternative investments. He has lectured around the world on investment related topics.

He is a member of the Editorial Boards of The Investment Professional and The Journal of Performance Measurement. He is author/editor of Hedge Fund Alpha: A Framework for Generating and Understanding Investment Performance. Previously, he was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc, where he played an instrumental role in creating and managing investment strategies for Merrill Lynch's Strategy Power product. Strategy Power eventually gathered over $1 billion in managed account assets.
